Why Swift Drop
Specialist transport

Most people searching for animal transport UAE are looking for one of three services that have almost nothing in common beyond the fact that a living creature or a biological sample is involved. A family moving from Dubai to Abu Dhabi needs a cat carried across the city without a stressful hour in a hot car. A falconer needs a bird taken to a hospital appointment and brought back the same afternoon. A clinic needs a sample at a laboratory before the cold chain breaks.
Treating those as one product is where bookings go wrong. A parcel van is not an animal transporter. A pet run is not a specimen run. This page sets out how each of the three is handled at Swift Drop, what we need from you before a driver is dispatched, and what we deliberately do not carry.
If what you are sending is an ordinary parcel or a document rather than anything alive or clinical, the pricing page and the express delivery service are the right starting points, not this page.
Our pet service covers cats and dogs, and it is built around the parts of the journey that are hardest on the animal: the wait, the heat and the handover.
Vehicles are climate-controlled, and the animal travels in a secured IATA-standard crate. If you do not have a suitable crate, crate hire can be arranged, so tell us the animal's size and weight when you ask for a quote. Drivers are comfortable with animals and are briefed on the booking before collection, so nobody arrives surprised by a nervous rescue dog or a cat that has never been in a carrier.
The run is door to door. We collect from your home, a vet clinic or an airport cargo terminal and deliver to the destination address, with photo updates sent from collection through to arrival. That matters most in the two cases people book us for repeatedly: a move between emirates, and a vet or airport run where you cannot make the trip yourself.
Airport runs go to the cargo terminals at DXB, DWC and AUH. If your pet is being exported, we coordinate the timing with your relocation agent rather than inventing a schedule, because the airline's cut-off and the agent's paperwork decide the slot, not us.
Pet jobs are quoted per animal and per route. There is no published price list for this, and any company that quotes you a flat pet rate sight unseen is guessing. The figure depends on animal size, crate requirements, the route and any waiting time at a clinic or terminal. We confirm the quote in writing before dispatch. You can start that conversation on the pet transport service page or through the booking page.
Falcon transport is a specialist job and we treat it as one. Birds travel hooded, on secured perches, in quiet vehicles where the cabin temperature is managed. A hooded bird on a fixed perch in a calm vehicle is the least stressful configuration available for road travel, and it is the only way we move them.
Trained handlers do the work. Requested runs go to Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital, Dubai Falcon Hospital and private veterinary clinics, and we schedule advance transport for competition venues and festivals during the season. Multiple birds can travel together on separate perches depending on the vehicle configuration; tell us how many when you request the quote.
Paperwork travels with the bird. Falcon passport and CITES documentation go in the vehicle with the animal rather than being left with the owner to produce later, which is the detail that most often delays a hospital admission or a border movement.
The same quoting rule applies: per bird, per route, confirmed in writing before dispatch. The falcon transport service page has the operational detail, and the quote request starts on the booking page.
Animal specimen transportation in the UAE is a clinical job, so it runs through our medical service rather than the pet service. Specimens are carried in validated cool boxes, at 2–8 °C where the sample requires it and at ambient where it does not, by drivers trained in specimen handling and spill protocol.
Every handover is recorded. Chain-of-custody documentation captures who handed the sample over, at what time, and who received it, which is what a laboratory asks for when a result is questioned or a sample arrives in a condition nobody wants to explain.
Medical and specimen runs are priced at AED 120–200 depending on the route and the temperature requirement, with a firm quote given before dispatch. This is the one part of the animal transport picture with a published range rather than a per-job quote, because the handling is standardised. The details sit on the medical delivery service page.
A note on temperature: we log temperature for specimens in validated boxes. We do not claim temperature logging for pets, and you should be sceptical of anyone who does. A pet in a climate-controlled cabin is a different proposition from a sample in a calibrated box.
A booking that goes smoothly is usually a booking where the customer front-loaded five pieces of information. For any animal transport UAE job, have these ready.
The animal or sample itself: species, breed where relevant, approximate size and weight for pets, number of birds for falcons, and what the sample is for specimens, including whether it needs to stay cold.
The crate or container: whether you are supplying it or hiring from us, and whether the animal is already comfortable in it. A cat that has never seen a carrier will not settle in one on the morning of the move.
The route and the clock: collection address, destination address, and any hard deadline. A flight, a hospital appointment and a laboratory cut-off are all fixed times, and knowing them changes which vehicle and which departure we plan.
The receiving person: a name and a mobile number at the destination, and confirmation that somebody will be there. For specimens, we also need to know who is authorised to sign for the sample.
The paperwork: falcon passport and CITES documents, veterinary records or export papers where they exist, and for specimens the requesting laboratory and any handling instructions. We carry the documents; we do not obtain them for you, and we do not present ourselves as a veterinary practice or a relocation agency.
Saying no is part of running an animal transport service honestly, so here is the list.
We do not carry livestock, farm animals or anything moved commercially for production. We do not carry contraband, and we do not carry animals whose paperwork does not exist; if a CITES document or an export permit is missing, the journey does not start.
We do not carry animals that need veterinary treatment in transit. If an animal is unwell, the right first call is a vet, not a courier. The same applies to a pet that has been sedated for the trip by somebody other than its own vet: sedation decisions belong to a veterinarian who has examined the animal, and we will not accept a sedated animal handed over with no record of who administered what.
We do not carry specimens outside the validated packaging and temperature conditions the medical service requires, and we do not carry samples that are not declared as samples at booking. An undeclared clinical sample in a parcel van is a risk to the driver and to the result.
We also do not promise what we cannot control: a specific arrival minute inside a hospital queue, or a border clearance time that belongs to a government authority.
Animal transport UAE coverage at Swift Drop is all seven emirates, including Al Ain and Ruwais, and operations run 24/7. That matters for the emergency end of this work: a specimen that has to leave a clinic at two in the morning, or a falcon that has to be at a hospital before the day's first appointment.
The route overview is on the coverage page, and the service list, including the specialist options, is on the services page. Longer reads on how we work, including the same-day and inter-emirate guides, are on the blog.
Payment: cash on collection always works. Card is offered at booking only when it is enabled for that booking, so check what the checkout shows before you confirm rather than assuming a card payment will be available at the door. No payment method is promised in advance.
One last point about booking. Specialist jobs are not instant-priced like a document run, so the booking page starts a conversation rather than ending one. Tell us the animal, the route, the timing and the receiving person, and you get a written quote back.
Yes. Pet transport covers cats and dogs door to door across all seven emirates in climate-controlled vehicles, with secured IATA-standard crates and photo updates from collection to arrival. Crate hire is available if you do not have one.
Pet and falcon jobs are quoted per animal and per route, confirmed in writing before dispatch, because size, crate requirements, distance and waiting time all change the job. Medical and animal specimen runs are priced at AED 120–200 with a firm quote before dispatch.
Yes, to the cargo terminals at DXB, DWC and AUH. We coordinate the timing with your pet relocation agent, because the airline cut-off and the export paperwork determine the slot.
Yes. Trained handlers carry falcons hooded on secured perches in quiet, temperature-managed vehicles, with regular runs to Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital, Dubai Falcon Hospital and private clinics. Falcon passport and CITES documents travel with the bird.
Yes, as part of our medical service: trained drivers, validated cool boxes at 2–8 °C or ambient, and chain-of-custody records for every handover. Tell us the temperature requirement when you book.
No. Sedation is a veterinary decision made by a vet who has examined the animal, and we do not administer or arrange it. If an animal is unwell or cannot travel calmly without treatment, see a vet before booking a vehicle.
